Heib Career Portal is an educational guidance tool designed to help students and recent graduates learn how federal careers work and how to prepare for them.
What we collect
- Account info (if enabled): name and email (only if you create an account).
- Usage data: learning progress, saved careers, plans, and comparisons (stored locally unless you enable a database).
- Device data: basic technical info required to operate the site (browser, session).
How we use information
- Provide the core experience (saving, planning, tracking progress).
- Improve guidance and reduce confusion for students.
- Maintain reliability and security.
Where your data is stored
By default, the portal may store progress locally in your browser (localStorage). If you enable a database (such as Supabase or Postgres), your data may be stored securely on that service.
Third-party services
If the portal shows job postings sourced from public APIs (e.g., USAJOBS), those listings remain owned by their respective publishers. We may link out to official postings for confirmation.
Your choices
- You can clear your local portal data by using "Reset demo data" (if available) or clearing browser data.
- You can stop using the portal at any time.
